Mara Clara was a Filipino primetime television drama that was aired by ABS-CBN which ran from August 17, 1992 to February 14, 1997. It was re-aired in Studio 23 and Kapamilya Channel[1], which are both an ABS-CBN subsidiaries. It is an adapted novel of the same title written by Emil Cruz Jr. It was considered as the "Longest Series of Philippine Drama." It was the first Philippine drama series to be adapted into a feature film which was done by Star Cinema in 1996.
It was originally aired at 2:30 p.m. until 1995. In 1995, it went to a 2:00 p.m. timeslot. In 1996, it moved to a primetime slot until it ended in 1997.
A 2010 remake, starring Kathryn Bernardo as the new Mara and Julia Montes as the new Clara, currently airs in ABS-CBN.
